Hi all. I am curious about something and thought I'd get this worry off my chest. We all know that freedom scientific is located in Florida right? Well I have this question. If Fransis were to keep fs shut down until further notice like Charley almost did, what would happen to those of us who use their products? Is there other places that sell their products as well? Would this hurt the blind community? Or will we just have to deal with their shut down and delay buying from them until they can reopen? I'm not saying they'll have to shut down, I'm just curious as to what would happen if this were to happen. My main reasoning for this post is that I wanted to order openbook from them and I'd really hate to have it on delay and was wondering if there's somewhere else that I can order it from?

I don't know about your kneck of the woods, but when I got jaws, I got it through a reseller in Vancouver, so if you go on freedom scientific's website, and choose find a dealer, you should be able to find a reseller in your area.
Well, Troy, if you have FS's website url then go to that. I'm sure they'll post a notification on their site about FS being closed down due to the hurricane. Thats something you gotta deal with, because I'd rather FS be closed then not have people work there during a huricane in progress and be in harm's way.
I couldn't agree more! the people at fs do have families as well, and I would think personal safety should be a higher priority right now.
I totally agree! However I was just curious of how this might affect us users if at all. I will give the local dealer a try if they do shut down, but so far it doesn't say anything about shutting down on their site.
